Welcome to Harmony Pugs!
I have been involved in the dog fancy since 1990, participating in obedience and competing in conformation shows.
I fell in love with the Pug breed and adopted my first pugs in 2008. I have been exhibiting pugs in the AKC conformation ring since 2009.
In 2017, Harmony pugs welcomed the birth of our first black pug, Snow! (CH Harmony's Once Upon A Time)
As a preservation breeder, I strive to improve the pug breed and breed to the AKC standard, carefully planning each breeding of fawn and black pugs. I breed with the next show dog in mind but of course, not every puppy will be show quality and those puppies will be placed in forever pet homes on a spay/neuter contract.
All of my pugs are raised as part of the family in my home.
We are located in the beautiful Texas Hill Country.
I hope you enjoy the site!
I support PDE (Pug Dog Encephalitis) susceptibility testing.
ALL Harmony Pugs are tested for PDE markers and breedings are carefully matched to avoid producing S/S marked puppies.
Health testing/screening to include eyes (CERF) and patellas (per the Pug Dog Club of America) are also performed and on file with the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals and the Canine Health Information Center (CHIC) once completed. Tests are also listed on individual pug pedigrees.
Although the AKC parent club, the Pug Dog Club of America, does not require health testing of pugs being shown, bred or sold for companions, I believe in health testing and will continue to do so. I adhere to the 2018 PDCA policy that at least one parent of a litter has a CHIC number.
