HARMONY   PUGS

Welcome to the New Site!

I'm Susan Reinbold-Kurn, the breeder behind Harmony Pugs located in the Heart of the Texas Hill Country near the Highland Lakes in Burnet, Texas. As a preservation breeder, I strive to preserve the Pug breed and meet the AKC standard. I breed with the next show dog in mind, but of course, not every puppy will be show quality and those puppies will be placed in forever pet homes on a spay/neuter contract. Occasionally, I will have young adults and retired champions available to approved companion homes.

We have recently learned that unauthorized parties are misusing our name and website content. Please be aware that Harmony Pugs is not affiliated with any other breeder or organization.
I am the sole breeder behind Harmony Pugs, and all official information and updates will only come from this website and our verified social media accounts.

We are pleased to report that we passed our AKC inspection!

I have been involved in the dog fancy since 1990, starting with the United Kennel Club showing American Pit Bull Terriers. I have participated in obedience and conformation shows. I fell in love with the Pug breed and adopted my first Pugs in 2008. Shortly after that, I began exhibiting Pugs in the AKC conformation ring in 2009.

At Harmony Pugs, my focus is to produce sound, healthy Pugs that conform to the AKC standard. This means a concentration on structure, temperament and health. Health testing/screening includes eyes, knees (patellas) and now, new to the breed is BOAS (brachycephalic obstructive airway syndrome) screening, which involves a Respiratory Function Grading Assessment. All Harmony Pugs are tested for PDE markers and breedings are carefully matched to avoid producing S/S marked puppies, which carry a higher chance of contracting Pug Dog Encephalitis.
