Westminster 2026 Recap

What an unforgettable start to the year! Traveling to New York for Westminster 2026 was truly a
once-in-a-lifetime experience — and for the first time, Harmony Pugs was in the ring, not just in the
stands.
Magic was entry #11 and first in the ring, starting the lineup with confidence and heart. No ribbons
this time, but what a moment. Magic showed beautifully, held his tail high, and represented Harmony
Pugs with pride and joy.

From the bustling energy at the Javits Center to the iconic glow of the city, the entire show was electric. The
Pugs were beautiful, the competition was deep, and the camaraderie among breeders and exhibitors
reminded us exactly why we do what we do.

The real win was proudly standing beside a dog we bred, conditioned, loved, and prepared. Every step in that ring represented years of thoughtful breeding, daily training, and heart.

Thank you to everyone who sent good-luck messages, followed along, and cheered from afar.
Harmony Pugs was truly surrounded by community.

Pug Highlight of the Month:

Frankie McFrankster (aka Bubbs)

CH Harmony's Walk Like A Man

This month we celebrate the distinguished, hilarious, and utterly lovable Frankie McFrankster!
Frankie lives in the artsy Houston neighborhood, surrounded by a joyful family who adores him endlessly. He just celebrated his 10th birthday, and he remains as expressive, witty, and charming as ever.

Meet Frankie McFrankster- affectionately known as Bubbs- our neighborhood icon and the unofficial poster pug of our street. This March, he celebrated the big one-oh!
Frankie is a full-time velcro pug who firmly believes personal boundaries are a myth and that his humans exist solely for his comfort. He runs a very strict kitchen schedule and has absolutely no hesitation reminding us if we're even one minute late for meals.
Fiercely loyal, endlessly entertaining, and always full of fun-loving spirit, Frankie fills our home (and our couches) with an abundance of pug dust and love -and we wouldn't have it any other way. We are forever grateful that Susan chose us to be his parents.
With love, Amber, Taso & Socrates

Frankie is the kind of Pug who reminds us that age only adds flavor — sharper comedic timing, deeper snuggles, and wiser eyes that have seen a decade of love.

March Birthdays — So Much to Celebrate!

March has been full of celebrations here at Harmony Pugs, and our hearts are so full! Magic and his siblings turned 2, Jessie celebrated an incredible 11 years, and Frankie, Fifi, and their siblings reached the big milestone of 10.

Then came the unforgettable date of March 20—a truly special day spanning four different litters across the years. Merlin and his siblings turned 6, Franklin and his siblings turned 5, Onyx and his siblings turned 3, and sweet Baby Aurora celebrated her very first birthday at 1.

From our seasoned seniors to our youngest little ones, each of these precious pups holds a special place in the Harmony Pugs story. Watching them grow, thrive, and be so deeply loved is truly the greatest gift. Happy Birthday to all of our March babies—we celebrate you today and always!

Training Tip of the Season!

Focus on the AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC) Title

Spring is the perfect time to polish skills and set a goal. The AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC) title is one of the most rewarding steps you can take with your Pug — whether they’re destined for the show ring, therapy work, or simply developing good manners at home.
Here’s how to get started:

1.  Master the Basics:
  • Sit
  • Down
  • Stay
  • Loose‑leash walking
  • Reliable recall. Short, fun sessions (5–7 minutes) are perfect for Pugs.
2. Practice Polite Greetings
  • CGC requires calm behavior when meeting strangers and other dogs.
  • Reward quiet, controlled sits over excited wiggles.
3. Build Confidence With Handling

Practice: teeth checks, paw handling, grooming touch, and calm acceptance of a leash drop.

Great for: show prospects, vet visits, grooming, and general manners.

4. Create Real‑World Moments -Take training outside:
  • Pet-friendly stores
  • Outdoor dining patios
  • Neighborhood parks -Positive exposure builds a confident, resilient companion.
Remember the Heart of CGC isn’t about perfection — it’s about teamwork, trust, and communication. It’s a beautiful way to deepen your bond.

❓ Pug Trivia

Trivia answer from Issue #1
Question:

  • What ancient civilization is credited with developing the early Pug?
Answer:
  •    Ancient China
Pugs trace their origins back over 2,000 years to ancient China, where they were bred as cherished companions for emperors during the Han Dynasty. These little charmers lived lives of luxury inside royal palaces and were highly treasured—often guarded and treated like royalty themselves.  From imperial courts to our hearts today… the magic of the Pug has truly stood the test of time.

This month's Trivia Question!

What is the name of the group of Pugs that saved the life of a royal prince, leading the breed to become the official dog of a royal house?

Fun Fact: A Peek Into Pug History
Did you know Pugs were treasured companions of ancient Chinese emperors, living in guarded palace quarters and symbolizing harmony and good fortune? Their round heads and expressive faces appear throughout early Chinese art — the same features we love today.
